Counselling in Summertown, North Oxford
On Saturdays I offer counselling and psychotherapy sessions in South Parade, Summertown, North Oxford.
The counselling clients who work well with me are often academics, people from the creative professions and people who feel overwhelmed by all the different strands of life that they’re trying to juggle. They come to therapy because they feel out of their depth, anxious or deeply low and they’re seeking calm, equilibrium and a way forward.
Sometimes they may be going through a difficult period of transition, which might be to do with moving into a new phase of life, such as retirement or change of work, bereavement or marriage – or any of the other many many changes that can happen to any of us (to read more about life transitions, please see my recent blog post).
If any of this resonates with you, or you’re simply curious or in real need, do get in touch.
(A note on virtual sessions – sometimes people need a hybrid way of working together and this is possible, of course (as is working completely via virtual sessions). We can discuss this prior to starting counselling, or shift to this way of working if it seems appropriate.)
A Note on Inclusion and Respect
This work is about you. I aim to offer a space where you feel safe, seen, and able to be fully yourself, whoever you are, whatever your background, identity, or history. In line with the Equality Act 2010 and the professional codes I follow, I welcome clients of all ages, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, faiths, and neurotypes, including those whose lives have been shaped by marginalisation or exclusion.
I keep questioning my own blind spots, my place in the culture, and how these might show up in our work. I’m committed to listening, learning, and being accountable, through reading, training, supervision, and hearing directly from clients like you when something feels off.
